Andrey "MPKBK" Ermakov has unveiled plans for a series of four LAN tournaments in the CIS region, organized in partnership with WINLINE. Three events will feature $40,000 prize pools, while the final tournament will offer an enhanced $50,000 purse.
The concluding event holds particular significance as it's scheduled for October 20-23, just one week before the VRS invitation cutoff for the upcoming PGL Singapore Major.
Detailed information has been released for CIS LAN Season 6, set to take place in Moscow from July 27-30. The competition will welcome 16 participating squads and follow a best-of-three GSL format for the group stage. Teams will then advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket, with the championship match being a best-of-five series.
Teams interested in competing can register starting July 7 at 16:00. Entry operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a $3,000 registration fee per squad.
These regional offline competitions have historically played crucial roles in determining Major qualification outcomes. PARIVISION secured their spot at the StarLadder Budapest Major following their victory at Majestic LanDaLan 3. Conversely, K27 saw their Cologne Major aspirations shattered at MPKBK CIS LAN Season 4.
The most recent edition witnessed Virtus.pro's restructured lineup make their first appearance, capturing the organization's initial trophy in three years. This triumph propelled the team upward more than 70 positions in the VRS rankings.
