Report: MIBR targeting nqz as kl1m replacement

July 7, 20261 min read

Brazilian esports outlet Dust2 Brasil reports that MIBR is on the verge of signing Lucas 'nqz' Soares, previously with paiN Gaming, to fill the AWP role. This move comes as Klimentii 'kl1m' Krivosheev's loan agreement from G2 Esports reaches its end.

The 22-year-old AWPer has been away from competitive play since April, when he stepped back from paiN's active roster citing personal matters. Despite his absence, nqz remains a hot commodity in the Brazilian scene.

According to the report, MIBR's standout performer Felipe 'insani' Yuji specifically requested the organization pursue nqz. This endorsement elevated the Brazilian sniper above other candidates like Santino 'try' Rigal and Artem 'r1nkle' Moroz in MIBR's priority list.

Before taking his break, nqz demonstrated strong form with a 1.17 rating across 64 maps in 2024. For comparison, kl1m posted a 1.11 rating over 111 maps during his MIBR tenure, which included appearances at IEM Cologne.

This acquisition will establish a predominantly Brazilian core within MIBR, with Swedish in-game leader Linus 'LNZ' Holtäng remaining as the only non-Brazilian starter. The projected lineup features brnz4n, insani, LNZ, venomzera, and nqz, with Nestor 'LETN1' Tanić continuing as head coach.
